How to Measure a Room
Determing how much flooring you need to buy is relatively simple, but it pays to measure properly.
1. Figure out the square metres of your room you want to install the flooring. Use a tape measure to determine the room's length and width. The multiply the length by the width to get your square metre figure. For instance, if the room is 4 metres wide and 6 metres long your calculation will look like this ( 4 x 6 = 24 metres )
2. Add 10% to the square metre figure to accommodate cuts and waste. If you've chosen a tile pattern, add 20%. The cuts in the flooring need to be staggered and you will want pieces left over just in case you need to mend or replace a board.
3. Check with our retail staff if your not sure. Pop into one of our showrooms where our dedicated staff will assist you with your calculations and any accessories you may require, including underlay, adhesive and moulding strips.
Please follow the installation instructions given on the manufacturers packaging.
